Art in Action, Walk in Love: The Watercolor Contribution of Mr. Cephas Chan

With more than twenty years dedicated to art education and creation, Mr. Cephas Chan draws inspiration from prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through brushwork and color, he conveys his pursuit of beauty, his compassion for the world, and his fervent passion for the faith.

Cephas's connection with our seminary began in 2023 when he created a pencil drawing for us, which was turned into practical tote bags that have accompanied many on their daily journeys. The following year, he painted twelve exquisite watercolor pieces, which the seminary transformed into commemorative table mats and calendars. Displayed on dining tables and desks, these pieces offer warm companionship each day and gently remind us of God's abundant grace upon the seminary whenever they are seen.

Learning this year that the seminary is raising funds for the restoration of the Ming Chieh Chapel, Cephas did not hesitate. He generously donated the original watercolor paintings, all twelve of them, for a fundraising sale, using the vital energy of art to ignite hope and share the burden with the seminary.

Each original work not only encapsulates the artist's spirituality and dedication but also embodies the shared aspiration to protect the seminary as it continues to fulfill God’s mission.

"The beauty of art lies in passing on love and walking together."

These precious original watercolor paintings are now available for fundraising sale. We cordially invite you to bring this beauty and blessing into your home and to join us in supporting the Ming Chieh Chapel restoration by participating in our walkathon.
