Apart from local students, international students share 22% of the total number of students of the Day School. There are also 14 students from Mainland China, including two Master Degree students and four studying for the Doctor of Theology degree. Out of these six students, four are members of the faculty development program of Mainland seminaries. 2. FACULTY

There are now 24 full-time teachers and five part-time teachers with the Faculty. There are seven part-time lecturers with the TEE program.

In the next academic year, two new full-time teachers will be joining us. Dr. Knud Jørgensen, specialized in Practical Theology, is sent by the Norwegian Lutheran School of Theology (MF) and Areopagos of Norway, and Dr. Francis Borchardt, specialized in Old Testament, is sent by the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM) of Finland.

LTS now has two candidates for Faculty Development: Ms. Lai Suk-Mee Shermain who is now studying for the Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Religious Education in the Durhum University in UK, and Ms. Lam Suet-Man Angel who is studying for the curriculum of Doctor of Philosophy with the Alliant International University in the USA, majoring in Clinical Psychology and Counseling.

3. CURRICULUM

LTS will be running two new degree programs. The first one is Master of Arts in Diakonia, designed as a theological training program for Christians who are working in diakonia related fields. It aims at consolidating their theological foundation, with a view to practicing God’s word and discipline in a diaconal context. Another new program is the Master of Arts in Lutheran Studies, aiming at equipping pastors who holds theological degree or bachelor degree relating to Christianity and at believers for them to serve or to become church leaders in the Lutheran churches.

In response to the needs of our students, LTS is planning to run intensive courses on special subjects in the following academic year. In consideration of the workload and burden of the professors, the Dean’s Office will make necessary arrangements carefully so that the same level of teaching service is maintained.

4. CAMPUS EXTENSION PROJECT

As led by the will of God, LTS is entering into the hundredth anniversary. In the wake of the inadequate space for activities and the degradation of fringe facilities, there are obvious needs for improvement and refurbishment. In this connection, the “LTS Campus Extension Project” is therefore being rolled out. The Project includes: refurbished air-conditioning system, improved and re-decorated main gate of the Seminary, expansion of the Dining Hall, addition of a new 150-seat strong Lecture Hall (installed with modern multimedia facilities and a simultaneous interpretation system), improved student activity areas and locker areas, addition of four new professor’s offices, one counseling room, and one multi-purpose syndicate room. The budget of the construction costs of the Project is estimated to be in the region of HK$17,500,000 (excluding compensative land charges, cost for repairing the elevator, furniture and audio-visual equipment in the new classroom). LTS therefore invites brothers and sisters in Christ, church pastors and ministers, alumni, co-workers and students, to pray and to make your offerings to this Campus Extension Project.
