THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION BY EXTENSION (TEE)
(Please find more information in the TEE Catalogue)

TEE is mainly designed to train lay leaders at our evening Extension Studies Center in Wong Tai Sin for the following purposes:

  a. The personal and spiritual growth of the learners
  b. To help the learners bear witness in their daily life
  c. Equipping learners to be better servants in congregations
  d. To build loving and caring Christian families

A holistic academic curriculum is offered (e.g. Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, Church History and Practical Theology, etc.). However, this program also provides opportunity for spiritual growth. At the end of each quarter, the program includes opportunities for consultation, retreat, evaluation and fellowship.

TEE offers the following programs:
a. For the learner who has finished Form 5
  i.
Certificate Programs in Theology for Lay Leadership: provides a variety of theological training programs. A student can focus on one of the three specific areas (a. Biblical Studies; b. Theology and History; c. Personal Growth and Service) earning a certificate after completing 12 credits. Alternatively, a student may choose to take a balanced program of courses in all three areas, and earn a certificate after completing 24 credits.
  ii.
Diploma Program in Theology for Lay Leadership is designed for the learners who want to further their study after their Certificate Programs. 24 credits are needed for the completion of this program.

b.
For the learner who has a Baccalaureate Degree Subsequent to 48 credits of study a Master of Christian Studies (M.C.S.) will be conferred.

c.
For the learner who has completed Form 6 Associate Degree in Christian Studies (A.C.S.): allows diploma graduates to further their studies; provides a chance for those who are called by God to ordained ministry, but who have family burdens, to do part-time studies in the evening school to shorten the duration of day-time study.

A portion of the credits earned from the TEE programs can transfer into the degree programs of LTS when the learners successfully enroll into those programs.

Inquiries and applications are to be made to the Director for Theological Education by Extension.
