Tao Fong Spiritual Formation Institute

There is a great need in this busy fragmented world for retreat, for pause, for personal and spiritual reflection. There is a need for the people of God to grow in faith and life and to　receive strength for the tasks ahead.

The Tao Fong Spiritual Formation Institute, a joint effort by LTS, Tao Fong Shan Christian　Centre, and the Institute of Spirituality and Life Gospel Ministry Ltd., located on To Fung　Shan, seeks to meet the need by providing both programs and place for such nurturing.　Moreover, the institute takes turns with the other institutes of LTS in arranging public lectures at the Friday Assemblies during the Spring terms. The four partners share a vision of nurturing Christian leaders and lay people in their deeper relationship with God through study and prayer.

The main purpose of the institute is four-fold:

1. To integrate the field of spirituality, art, and liturgy in and through training and　research.
2. To provide spiritual formation programs for lay Christians, seminarians, church
   ministers, and workers.
3. To train church ministers and workers in spiritual direction.
4. To encourage research and explore models of spirit formation in the Asian context.

The Tao Fong Spiritual Formation Institute comes into being so as to actualize the vision and goals of the four parties. It is hoped that all who come to study and pray on To Fung Shan will find life in the Word and the Spirit.
